About Me

I’m 50-something and a retired elementary school secretary & former librarian. Married almost 20 years to the love of my life, Jon.

I’m a happy person, have good friends and enjoy humour.  Monty, our Bichon Poo, has given us many very happy years.  I love coffee, travel, music, the beach, wine, flamingos and anything funky and different. I’m not a materialistic person and therefore don’t need a lot of “things” to make me happy (but PLEASE don’t take my camera or laptop or away from me).

My photography business was officially started in the spring of 2010, but I had been hobby shooting for thirty years by that point. Throughout that time I honed my skills and built a business through word of mouth, business networking and social media and am grateful to be a known family photographer in our area.

Photography has changed since the 80’s when I was assisting at weddings from very stiff portraits and posed photos to a more relaxed, candid lifestyle approach.  I have evolved with this new style and along the way, I’ve learned one very important thing: never stop learning and don’t be afraid to try new things.

I shoot 100% in manual mode in RAW with professional Canon equipment and professional Canon “L” series lenses.  I have always strived to “get it right in the camera” instead of relying on post processing.  But, I do get very excited during the editing process and will spend time adding embellishments (words/phrases) and special effects to many of my photos.  Giving my clients my best work has always been my #1 goal.

I’d love to talk to you to discuss capturing your special moments. You can email me anytime and I’ll get back to you soon.  Until then, keep smiling.
